So can anybody please upload or pm/email me the clockbox_v1_5ekx version, with the multi out enabled. I've been busy for hours to make a new project.hex file but I didn't succeed. When I upload this version clockbox_v1_5ekx, everything seems to work as it should, encoder works and all the buttons, but I can't enable the multi clock output. We commonly encounter musicians who want to connect their analog synths and MIDI gear to a DAW, but find that MIDI clock alone is not enough to keep things completely in sync: after a while, the MIDI clock in the computer and that transmitted to the hardware drift further and further. I attached 2 midi outs to j5 and both work, they send a play command when I hit 'global'play. The led's for track 2 also go on and off. Locking and/or interlocking normally refers to the functionality of the relay circuit (s) while the relay mechanical construction needed for the circuit might be Latching. 1>play 2>rew 3> start midi track 2 and 4> stop midi track 2. Rather, it would be considered an interlock if the door were locked while the magnetron is on, and the magnetron were prevented from operating while the door is open. But when possible, the methods inside the Interlocked class can achieve superior performance compared to a lock. Perhaps acquiring a lock on an object is the most common solution. NET standard provides multiple constructs to synchronize threads. See which musicians and artists use Innerclock Systems Sync-Lock, including The Chemical Brothers and others. But as I start pushing the buttons attached to my dinx4 board nothing happens, also the encoder doesn't give any reaction.Īfter pushing all my 32 buttons I found 4 working ones. Synchronization is a crucial part of concurrent programming. So, in your case, I suggest to use mutexes. Innerclock Systems - Sync Gen Pro II 5 DIN + 5 MIDI as well as TRS analog variable division arp trigger output. MIDI router/merger, manual shift and shuffle, LFO. Mutexes locking (and unlocking) is slow (very slow) only if mutex is already locked. E-RM Multiclock 4 outs of either MIDI, DIN or Analogue all of which can be turned on/off at the push of a button, can be it's own master for hardware only setups. Secondly, locking a mutex IS fast (as fast as spinlock) when is is unlocked. I uploaded this version and my display shows the right information and I got a row of 8 burning led's. In short, use of spin lock is correct if you garantee that your tasks will run on different CPU.

In December 2015, Trump lost his bid to stop the Scottish government from building a wind farm nearby. It was a source of tension for Trump after it met with resistance from locals and environmentalists. Located outside Aberdeen, Scotland, this course opened in 2012. While Trump wasn’t yet a politician at the point where this deal all went down, this is yet another example of public money being wasted in unfortunate ways. Recently, Trump’s controversial White House stint may have hit the golf course hard, leading to a 12 percent revenue decrease in 2017, reports the Washington Post. Keep in mind, Ferry Point is a public course but charges a hefty $175 a round, as opposed to the normal $20 to $50 at other public courses. Hmm!īecause Trump takes the profits, he got the $8 million that the course made in its first year alone. That money goes to the Trump Organization, which made a special deal to collect most of the revenue for the next 20 years, as described by CNBC, in exchange for covering upkeep expenses and building a $10 million clubhouse. The $127 million that funded the golf course came from New York’s taxpayers, according to the New York Times, but they don’t see the profits. Trump’s plan to expand two of the course’s holes onto public land and to double the length of his 20-year contract has been rejected by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.ĭonald Trump might claim the credit for New York City’s Ferry Point golf course, built over the remains of a Bronx garbage dump, but in reality, he didn’t put in any of his own money. This two-owner 1956 Thunderbird is a project for sure, but hopefully, it can be returned to its former glory. Two-seater Thunderbirds were desirable cars years before Suzanne Somers teased Richard Dreyfuss in her white ’56 in American Graffiti in 1973. (The first T-Bird club was started in 1962 only five years after the last ’57 rolled off the assembly line.). Nothing is mentioned about the brakes or other repairs that would be needed to make this Bird roadworthy after being garaged for 50 years. Perhaps the dual-quad setup was tested for the E Code option offered in 1957 and both are included as the photo below shows. Ford tested different things on the car for the 1957 model.” That’s pretty interesting. I put a battery in it and the motor cranks like a champ, so should run with some points and TLC.” The seller also shares that “the car was fitted with the dual quad setup for the Ford executive in 1956 and there is another intake and carb. The engine bay looks respectable and the seller claims that the 312 cubic-inch V8 “still carries a lot of the original hose clamps. Seat belts were also an option as part of Ford’s Lifeguard Design safety push in 1956. Other options include power windows and an automatic transmission. The Bird shows 64,492 on the odometer and comes with both the porthole window hardtop and the optional convertible top, plus a tonneau cover. The padded dash and seat look pretty well preserved for its age. The red and white interior appears original and stock (except for the aftermarket dash-mounted traffic light viewer) and needs a good cleaning. The frame is solid and the driver side hood hinge needs adjusting.” The seller states that “the floors feel solid as does the trunk floor for her age. I’m guessing it’s wearing the original Colonial White factory paint where rust is also visible around the rear wheel housings and fenders. The seller doesn’t say if a restoration had been started at some time, but the Bird has had the continental kit, some trim pieces, and the driver’s door panel removed. As of this writing, it had 70 Bird Watchers following it. You can find this unrestored Baby Bird here on eBay in Clinton Township, Michigan with an asking price of $15,000. Except for two missing hubcaps, it’s complete, original, and hasn’t been monkeyed with, plus the seller says the engine runs. The Bird has 1971 Michigan plates on the back and one assumes that based on the rust that can be seen in the photos, that it’s spent its entire life in Michigan. For some reason, it was put in a garage in 1971 where it has supposedly been ever since. The original owner was a Ford executive who sold it to the second owner in 1965. This two-owner, two-seater Thunderbird has an interesting story, but we wish we knew more. A heavily overdubbed version of Learning The Game, orchestrated by Norman Petty, made its first appearance on the 1960 LP, The Buddy Holly Story, Volume II. It is a bittersweet exemplar of the songs Holly surely would have written and recorded if history had taken a different course. This ballad of heartbreak, resignation and lessons learned is a powerful example of Holly’s growing sophistication as a songwriter. It was cut shortly before Holly and Maria Elena travelled to Texas for the Christmas holidays, and only six weeks before his death. Learning The Game was the final original composition recorded by Holly. The so-called ‘Apartment Tapes’ are some of his finest solo recordings, demonstrating Holly’s maturity as a songwriter and performer. Holly used it during this winter break from the road to record new songs and covers of some of his favourite rock’n’roll tunes. Before the split with Petty, Holly purchased a portable Ampex 401A tape recorder from Petty. Holly and his new bride, Maria Elena, were living in an apartment in the Greenwich Village neighbourhood of New York City, and Holly spent most of December 1958 working on new songs. After an argument in November over money and other issues, Holly ended his business relationship with Petty and began a legal battle to recover royalty payments from his former producer. Holly’s departure from The Crickets was amicable, but that was not the case with Petty. In the autumn of 1958, big changes were underway for Holly’s career as he split with The Crickets and producer Norman Petty. Rather than proclaim these “Buddy Holly’s Best,” view them as 10 indisputable examples of musical genius from one of rock’n’roll’s greatest talents… 10 Learning The Game Narrowing Holly’s vast catalogue to a definitive ‘Top 10’ list is a challenging task bound to spark arguments and fierce defences of favourites not included. Adding various home and demo recordings to that total increases the incredibly diverse and prolific legacy that Holly left behind. His professional recording career encompassed slightly more than three years, but he left behind almost 200 recordings made during that short span. It’s stunning how great this recording still sounds.Just how good was Buddy Holly? Our Top 10 Buddy Holly songs presents ten of those iconic songs that changed the rock and roll landscape forever. Buddy Holly’s music gave birth to a new rock and roll feel that soon thousands of recording artists would try to imitate. It is simply a tribute to the power of Buddy Holly’s songs. It’s truly amazing that an artist who only released three albums had such an impact on rock and roll for so long a time. “The Big Bopper” Richardson and the plane’s pilot Roger Peterson all lost their lives that tragic night. Tragedy struck in early 1959 when Buddy Holly’s plane crashed after a concert. The two records entitled Buddy Holly on Coral records and That’ll Be The Day on Decca Recrds would be the last studio recordings Buddy Holly released while he was still alive. In 1957, Buddy Holly released two albums. The album contained the number one single “That’ll Be The Day.” The Crickets were Buddy Holly’s backing band but because of contractual issues with Buddy Holly’s first recording label Decca, Buddy Holly was unable to release the first album under his name. The album and Buddy Holly were an instant hit. The album was entitled The Chirping Crickets. Mauldin on bass and Niki Sullivan on rhythm guitar. The group consisted of Buddy Holly on lead vocals and guitar, Jerry Allison on drums, Joe B. A little over twenty years later, Buddy Holly would release his first album with his band The Crickets. Buddy Holly was raised by a family of musicians during those difficult days of T he Great Depression. Music and art rescues people from their sorrows. Many historians argue that when times are bad, music thrives. His music has lived on for over 60 years.īuddy Holly was born in Texas in 1936 during The Great Depression. Countless musicians from Bruce Springsteen to The Rolling Stones have covered Buddy Holly’s songs on record and in live performances. However the music on those three records broke immense ground in the development of rock and roll. Buddy Holly released only three original studio albums. If you only need to check email and browse the web, then a lower data limit will suffice. The amount of data you need will depend on how you plan to use it. If you plan to live in a van or RV and work from the road, you’ll need a data plan to stay connected. Whether it’s WiFi, Verizon unlimited mobile data plans, or Starlink mobile satellite let’s have a look at the pro’s and con’s of each. Mobile internet for RV and vanlife is a must for many folks who work from the road. And cellular plans are a fast-changing world, so if you learn more, make sure to add it in the comments here.Sorting through the different ways to get internet while on the road can be daunting. Verizon used to throttle all of its wholesale customers to 5Mbps, and AT&T used to throttle many to 8Mbps that isn't the case any longer, with only a few plans (some on the chart below) now doing throttling.Īlong with the plans listed here -which are all the brands owned and operated by the four major carriers -H2O Wireless throttles its speeds to 8Mbps, and US Mobile offers a range of speed-throttled, discount options.įor more on cheap wireless plans, check out our feature on The Best Cheap Cell Phone Plans You've Never Heard Of, which describes our favorite plans that aren't owned by the major carriers. This report from Tutela (Opens in a new window) shows the effect of deprioritization on average speeds.Ĭarriers have recently gotten more liberal about hard speed caps, as they've gotten more comfortable with deprioritization. Yeah, I know, speeds are unreliable anyway. The best way to think about deprioritization is that speeds become unreliable. The priority list tends to go: first postpaid customers, then prepaid customers on the primary brand, and then virtual carriers that buy minutes wholesale from the larger carriers. On all carriers, postpaid, first-party customers get priority on the network. That's to prevent people from using their phone plans as their primary means of home internet access. On tiny phone screens, however, it's hard to say that most people can tell the difference between 480p and 1080p video.Ĭarriers also throttle tethering and hotspot mode. But most plans will throttle video streaming. Relatively few plans will actually throttle your speed these days, unless you get to a very high level of usage. On a phone, with current apps, it's hard to feel the difference when you get above 20Mbps, but the difference between 3Mbps and 10Mbps is the difference between your Instagram scrolling and stalling. Running our Fastest Mobile Networks tests since 2010, I've found there's a significant difference in how responsive web pages and image-based social networks feel once you get to around the 10Mbps level. The major carriers and their low-cost brands all put restrictions on their unlimited deals -sometimes, even including hard caps on your LTE data speed.ĭo speed caps matter? I think so. The white race believes––believes with all its heart––that it is their right to take the land. Yet here we are.Īnd America, too, is a delusion, the grandest one of all. By every fact of history, it can't exist. Who told you the negro deserved a place of refuge? Who told you that you had that right? Every minute of your life's suffering has argued otherwise. Still we run, tracking by the good full moon to sanctuary. When you saw your mother sold off, your father beaten, your sister abused by some boss or master, did you ever think you would sit here today, without chains, without the yoke, among a new family? Everything you ever knew told you that freedom was a trick-yet here you are. Here's one delusion: that we can escape slavery. Nothing's going to grow in this mean cold, but we can still have flowers. Sometimes a useful delusion is better than a useless truth. The narrator observes that, “the women in the colored dormitories of South Carolina believed they knew liberty, but the surgeons' knives cut them to prove otherwise.” Elsewhere, the narrator remarks: “Because that's what you do when you take away someone's babies-steal their future.” Both these statements emphasize the idea that even free black people are at a constant risk of having their lives and future taken away from them, and that no black person living during the era of slavery can access freedom that isn’t in some sense haunted by death. Similarly, the black people who live in the South Carolina dormitories think they are free, only to discover that they are in fact being subjected to a medical experiment that will infect them with illness and prevent them from having children, two fates that are a kind of metaphorical (and in some cases literal) death. The free utopia of Valentine’s farm meets a bloody end when Ridgeway and other whites descend on the community and murder those who live there. Meanwhile, black people’s freedom is always haunted by the threat of death because of the inescapable system of white supremacy. This idea of Mabel’s freedom encourages Caesar and Cora to escape, and thus ultimately bestows on Cora a chance at life and freedom. Even Mabel, who dies from a snakebite shortly after fleeing Randall, achieves a kind of immortality by forever evading the slave-catchers who attempt to track her down: since Mabel’s body is swallowed by a swamp, none of the characters ever find out what happened to her, and thus they end up imagining that she is living a life of freedom up north. The only way of escaping this slow death is by running away. Life on the plantation is to some extent a form of living death-in Cora’s words, a way of being killed “slowly” by white slave-owners. In another sense, however, death and freedom are opposites. These events highlight that the struggle between black freedom and white supremacy is a fight to the death both can survive only through the murder of the other. For example, soon after fleeing Randall plantation Cora kills a 12-year-old white boy, and when Terrance Randall dies it is suggested that the distress caused by Cora’s escape led to his death. Of course, this warning seeks to conceal the fact that sometimes enslaved people do escape on the rare occasions when runaways are successful, their freedom is also often linked to the deaths of others. The name “Freedom Trail” serves as a warning that, for enslaved people, the search for freedom means certain death. The twinning of freedom and death is encapsulated most powerfully in the “ Freedom Trail,” a seemingly endless path along which runaways and those who try to help them are hanged and left on display. In this way, freedom and death are inherently interlinked for black people living under slavery. Furthermore, the likelihood of dying in an escape attempt is so high that slaves who choose to run away are choosing death as much as they are choosing freedom. Meanwhile, other enslaved people turn to suicide or religion as an escape from their conscious reality, both of which promise freedom in death. However, Cora notes that even those who would never consider running away still dream of freedom: “Every dream a dream of escape.” Although enslaved people may not be able to consciously imagine freedom, they seek freedom in their unconsciousness. Most of the enslaved people Cora knows-including Cora herself-have never known freedom, and the system of slavery is so brutal and expansive that most of them cannot imagine becoming free during their lifetime. In older builds and drafty homes, it’s instead prioritized during a retrofit or renovation phase. With that said, tightening an existing building envelope is possible-and favored. Thus, creating an airtight building envelope means builders are prioritizing a design and construction phase that allows only intentional gaps and openings in the building envelope. This is because the building envelope is directly related to a home’s foundation. And it improves air circulation indoors while maintaining a tight building envelope! How To Create a Tighter Building EnvelopeĪ majority of creating an airtight building envelope occurs during the construction process. It supplies a consistent influx of fresh filtered outdoor air without compromising air quality or energy efficiency. Mechanical ventilation is the solution to the lack of natural ventilation that results from tightening the building envelope. Yet, on the other hand, tight homes require mechanical ventilation to guarantee fresh incoming air.Īirtight Home Ventilation: Why is mechanical ventilation a necessary upgrade for airtight homes? Find out how a fresh air IAQ upgrade helps ensure proper airtight home ventilation. All of which turns a drafty loose home into a tight home. For airflow, air circulation and air quality, in particular, the building envelope and degree of airtightness play a key role in one’s indoor environment.įor leaky homes, loose building envelopes and older constructions … it’s necessary to pursue airtight renovations, air sealing and weatherization. That is, to act as a point of resistance between the unintentional exchange of air, heat, light, noise and water. The other primary purpose is to act as a means of control. What Is the Purpose of the Building Envelope?Ĭrucial to any and every building, the building envelope provides structural support. The building envelope is critical to air movement and indoor air quality as well as occupant comfort, energy efficiency and building durability. Specific to HVAC and IAQ, the building envelope serves as the physical separator between conditioned indoor air and unconditioned outdoor air. The building envelope is the physical barrier of a structure including walls, doors and doorways, windows, external vents and chimneys. It serves as the resistance point to air, heat, light, noise and water transfer between the indoors and outdoors. All that said, why does your home’s building envelope matter? Keep reading to learn about the building envelope and IAQ relationship! What Is a Building Envelope in HVAC?Ī building envelope is the thermal and pressure barrier that surrounds a structure. Think of it as a marked boundary surrounding any given structure. A seemingly fancy term, a building envelope is simply the barrier between the inside and outside. Truth be told, your home’s building envelope plays a significant role in your home’s comfort, health and durability. Building envelopes and airtight construction aren’t terms just for contractors and builders. International shipments are not eligible for free shipping offers.
